It has been confirmed that Nikelodeon will be continue the Avatar series with a new 12 part mini-series titled “The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra”. The show will focus on Korra the new avatar after Aang. She is described as a rebellious young water tribe girl, ready to take on the world. Which probably means she will make plenty of mistakes before finally learning how to do things right. It follows her rise as the avatar mastering all the elements. When it comes time to learn airbender, her teacher will be the son of former avatar Aang and Katara, Tenzin. Taking place 70yrs after the original series, the shows creator have said there will be flashbacks of the past, which may indicate we the fans will find out what happened to some of our favorite characters. We may even find the answer to if Zuko found his mom. Even though peace was achieved in the original series, a new group of “anti-benders” are making their presence felt strongly. The “anti-benders” are a group of people who feel bending is wrong and should not be done, sort of like humans against mutants. Which hopefully will bring something interesting to the table, than the normal having powers is evil scenario. Of course with a new Avatar come new friends and enemies, maybe some old ones may make a return as well.

Set for a release date of Mid 2012, date subject to change of course, news of the new Avatar series will surely bring old fans back with high anticipation. New fans may want to catch up on their Avatar before starting this one.
