Tales of Monkey Island Gameplay Trailer

The release date for TellTale’s Tales of Monkey Island is nearly upon us (July 7), and a new gameplay trailer was released today.  The first chapter, entitled “Launch of the Screaming Narwhal”, will include the cast you know and love from the Monkey Island series.

The gameplay trailer shows the game has kept it’s humor in tact.  I’m the kind of player who likes playing around with dialog to find out as much information as possible, or to simply see what kind of humorous dialog I can uncover.  The banter between Guybrush and Governor Marley is a great example of why I loved the Monkey Island series.

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, And His Love For Video Games

Michael Jackson 1971 got to be there The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, And His Love For Video Games

One will always remember what they were doing during: The attack on Pearl Harbor, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the assassination of John Lennon and September 11th! Well, now we can add a new one to the list, The Shocking Death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

I can’t put into words how utterly devastated I have been since I heard the news last Thursday. This is a man whose music inspired young and old, near and far. Growing up in the 80’s, his music was everywhere.   He was the Mozart of our time. A child prodigy and musical genius that awed crowds from all over the world.

We at Perezstart.com, would like to send our prayers to the Jackson family.  Michael touched all of our lives and his memory will live with us forever.

Michael not only loved music and dancing, he also had a love for video games as well. It was mentioned that Michael had many arcade machines in the Neverland Ranch on free play. Also in 1990, he teamed up with Sega to create  Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker.

Fable III Rumor Announcement

I’ve been covering the game industry for close to 5 years, and so far, this has to be the strangest source for a rumor to come from.  It seems a wedding announcement in The New York Times might have accidentally leaked Fable III is secretly in the works at Lionhead Studios.

Doris Roberts Performs Shoryuken In ‘Aliens In The Attic’ Trailer

Doris Roberts Shoryuken Aliens in the Attic

Doris Roberts, who most of us know as Raymond’s mother Marie Baron from Everybody Loves Raymond, isn’t a stranger to acting in movies that involve video games.  After beating Dante in a 1-on-1 video game match in Grandma’s Boy, she definitely earned some gaming street cred.  In her upcoming film, Aliens in the Attic, that gaming cred definitely goes up a couple of notches.

Hulu Blocking Playstation 3 From Accessing Its Service

June 29th, 2009 Daniel Perez 1 comment

Hulu No Longer Playable On PS3Oh, Hulu.  Why do you hurt us so?  I understand the whole idea of watching quality programming on your personal computer, but this is getting outright ridiculous.  It seems over the weekend, Hulu purposly enforced a block on the Playstation 3 from accessing the Hulu service.

There’s been no official word directly from Hulu, but my bet would be they probably feel being able to access their service in a home entertainment setting is something they’re not too fond of at the moment.  So in order to get our Hulu fix, I guess we all have to become slaves to our laptops in order to watch anything on Hulu.  God forbid I actually sit back and experience streaming TV shows on my TV.  That’d be way too insane for mere mortals to handle.

Be sure to check out the E3 trailer that was released a couple of weeks ago to see why this demo announcement has got us all giddy.

Final Fantasy VII Sells 100,000 Copies

Earlier this month during Sony’s E3 press conference, it was announced that Final Fantasy VII was available for download on the Playstation Network.  Even though the download was in fact a port of the original title with no enhancements whatsoever, the title still sold like ice cream during a record-breaking heat wave.

New King of Fighters XII Trailer Focuses On The Triumph Of Combat

King of Fighters XII Triumph of Combat Trailer
The King of Fighters series has always held a close 2nd to the Street Fighter series in terms of how widely accepted the games were in arcades and in pop-culture overall.  It seems like this iteration of the King of Fighters series might just give Street Fighter IV a run for its money.

The latest trailer to come out of Ignition Entertainment for King of Fighters XII focuses on the combat.  As you’ll see in the trailer, all character sprites were painstakingly hand-drawn, but the overall graphics and 3D effects are simply stunning.  With only a couple of weeks left until it’s release in July, King of Fighters XII is definitely one game fighting fans should be keeping an eye on.
