Comic book, gaming, anime, and figurine fans who actively partake in either the New York Comic Con or New York Anime Fest will be delighted to learn that the Jacob Javits Center is going to get a lot more interesting come 2010. Reed Exhibitors, who are the organizers behind the New York Comic Con & New York Anime Fest, announced both shows will take place at the Jacob Javits Center on October 8-10.
The reason behind the “co-lation” between the two big New York cons was due in part with the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo taking place in April. The New York Comic Con was held in February this past year, but now organizers state October will be the New York Comic Con’s permanent date.

I have been a fan of Elfen Lied quite a while now, I would have to say it is in my top 5 of favorite watched anime. It’s opening song “Lilium” was also one I held close to my heart, and still do to this day. Why, I have even said I want the song played at my funeral. Emo of me no? It is a quite beautiful song and Mr. David Tidyman at St. Angela Merici Parish deems it so as well. He played it via an organ during a mass at that church on August 16, 2009, and one week earlier, he played it during communion. After the break I included Mr. David Tidyman’s version played on the organ with the original from Elfen Lied’s Opening Theme. They both brought a tear to my eye and I hope you will enjoy them to.

This right here is an amazing cover to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. It is sung by an amazing Japanese accapella group “Kuno Shinji”. The song is part of the Casshern Sins Project anime and can be found on the Hikari to Kage single by Kuno Shinji on the B-side. I thought I would share this interesting version of the song with all of you it is pretty kawaii and humorous. The singers do not know Engrish that well and they sometimes change up the words here and there but it is definitely worth a listen. Enjoy it after the break!

What do you expect? When there is an anime revolving around poop people you know there is going to be an uproar. Especially when one of their poop towns people resembles a stereotype of your culture. Koreans suggest that a character named “Kim Ben” (“Ben” is a pun on the Japanese character for excrement), who loves kimchee, has narrow eyes and is “easily angered,”.
First of all back up, who is watching this anime? I know there is a cartoon out there based on a Value meal “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”, but an anime based on excrement? That is trying a little to hard no? Ben the character stereotype in question is pictured on the top right of the above picture. I am sorry to the Korean community, I would not want to see a Cuban or Russian representation of me. Or would I? I think it would be quite funny.

Well, we have all seen the Hitler video revolving around the passing of Michael Jackson, which was pretty harsh but hilarious just the same. The video below pretty much shows all of the Haruhi fans frustration, including myself revolving the Endless Eight Arc. It is pretty damn funny from an otaku stand point and raises the question on everyone’s mind. When will Kyon finally finish his God Forsaken homework? Ok, maybe not yours but certainly mine. You be the judge of which Hitler skit you enjoy the most , I personally still go with MJ’s version but it is a pretty good runner up! Video after the break! Just when I thought I could not love Conan O’ Brien, host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show” anymore he brings us anime voice acting. Conan and co-host Andy visit Bang Zoom Studio, a company that does English dubbing for anime. This studio surprisingly happens to be very close to their own studio, which actually isn’t that surprising since Anime Kingdom happens to be in LA.
What anime does he dub, you may ask? None other than Ghost in the Shell! Oh, comedy most certainly ensues after the jump as you see they put their own spin to Ghost in the Shell and you get to know how much Conan truly loves fish.
