A few weeks ago, I wrote an article on the best sport games of the 80’s. One of my favorite games was Hardball, for the Atari computer platform. I could vividly remember a screen which struck me when I was a child and has sprung back up now as an adult. Here is the infamous screenshot:

Halloween is the time of year where we can all dress up as what ever we want and it’s a society accepted event. But we’re here to one you up, Mr Halloween. Costumless body-painting cosplay outfits. Ever thought of getting body painted? I’d be concerned about the “artist” painting. Come on, they’re the guys who go to Hooters. They’re not there for the culinary cooking!
Body painting, or sometimes bodypainting, is a form of body art, considered by some as the most ancient form of art. Unlike tattoo and other forms of body art, body painting is temporary, painted onto the human skin, and lasts for only several hours, or at most (in the case of Mehndi or “henna tattoo”) a couple of weeks. Body painting that is limited to the face is known as face painting. Body painting is also referred to as (a form of) temporary tattoos; large scale or full-body painting is more commonly referred to as body painting, while smaller or more detailed work is generally referred to as temporary tattoos. Remember back in grammar school and highschool , when we had Biology or Anatomy and had to study the human body with a boring skeleton or a dummy with the organs inside of it? Quite boring if you ask me! High school would have been quite more interesting if we had Hello Kitty’s dummys with heart and intestines popping out showing what our insides truly look out. What!! Are you saying our organs do not have smiley faces and bows! You lie my good sir, you lie.

[UPDATE] – Data restoration was announced by Microsfot.
I can still remember the first time I had the chance to see the new T-mobile Sidekick back in October 2003! I was so impressed by all of the revolutionary features that it boasted. The cool swivel screen, the full qwerty keyboard and the overall futuristic look of it. Instant messaging from a phone was unheard of in those days and this phone had it! At the time, texting was starting to pick up in popularity, but texting from a standard cell phone was cumbersome and slow. The Sidekick made it easy to send off text msgs in a snap.

Growing up in the 80’s, sports and video games would go together like apple pie. My brothers and I were fortunate enough to be pretty good athletes and played the games at home as well. This article will cover the best of the best from the decade. It will cover all systems as well as arcades. Rankings depend on realism, fun factor, replay value, graphics and sound.
10. Summer Games – Epyx – 1984

Summer Games, this was a classic. It had variety, excellent graphics for its day and was lots of fun to play. I particularly enjoyed the diving event, one would need to make the most moves in the air and try to straighten the diver up for minimal splash. The judges always favored their home country diver, very realistic feature!
- Pole vault
- Platform diving
- Sprinting
- Gymnastics
- Freestyle swimming
- Skeet shooting
- Rowing
Epyx continued with this genre and created Summer Games II, Winter Games, World Games and California Games. These were all great games worth playing again any day of the week!

9. Micro League Baseball -1984- Micro League Sports Association

X-Arcade Tankstick Joystick $249.95 $199.95
My very first post on PerezStart.com, was the top 5 arcade style game controllers. It was a very successful article which garnered many hits and comments. I wanted to follow up with a new champion of ASGC’s, the X- Arcade! What an amazing piece of peripheral perfection! Glad they didn’t go away.
It looks like someone ripped off the panel of a Street Fighter II machine and cleaned out the edges.! The professional joysticks, the soft, med and hard buttons for kick and punch, plus two more extra buttons. It even sports the rolling ball controller in the middle for all of sidepocket arcade fans.
What makes this device a step above the rest is the compatibility option. You can buy a bundle with all the adapters or just get the adapter that you need for the system that you have.
“The X-Arcade™ was built with internal electronics to be compatible with the major past, present and FUTURE game systems. Once you own the X-Arcade™controller, you will never need to buy another arcade joystick again!”

Growing up in the 80’s , I was always fascinated by driving. Especially since my Dad sported the racing gloves and drove a stick shift Corola throughout the decade. Therefore, naturally, I wanted to be just like him. I knew that wasn’t going to happen until I became an adult, which was a bummer. However, I was part of the 80’s generation, where one was now able to drive a racing car via a video game. How cool was that? The following is a list of my favorite racing old school games of the 80’s! Even Next-generation gamers will appreciate this list.
10.Ivan “Ironman” Stewart’s Super Off Road - 1989

I can remember the days, late 80’s Bigmouth Pizza on Bergenline Ave in North Bergen, NJ! They featured Ironman’s Stewart’s Super Offroad! This was a souped up version of Championship Sprint. It featured off road madness, water pits, mud pits, nitros and more!
This racing game was loads of fun and included up to 4 players of fun for everyone! For all of our Latino readers, how funny is the name of the track above? Guess you need grandes to get through this obstacle! LOL
A next-gen version of this game is available on WiiWare called Drifter..
Looks pretty good!

The ‘Thank You Mario’ screen is something that every gamer growing up in the 80’s should know. We’ve all seen it way too often in our journey to save Princess Toadstool and we’ve all been angered by its message that the fair princess was in fact, not in the castle you were busting your ass to get to.
Now you can create your very own ‘Thank You Mario’ screens. All you need is this LINK and some imagination. Feel free to share your ‘Thank You Mario’ screens in the comments.

For those who aren’t hip, (myself included) DJ AM a popular Disc Jockey has passed away at the age of 36 in his NYC apartment. While current speculation is that DJ AM was found with prescription drugs and a crack pipe near his body, this may be a result of his “devastating” break up with recent girlfriend, Hayley Wood.
DJ AM will have featured mixes throughout the DJ Hero soundtrack including: “Poison” and “Last Night a DJ saved my life”. DJ AM will also be a playable character in DJ Hero. DJ Hero is an upcoming Activision game set for release on October 27th.
