For those who need a “shot” of love, look no further than Yumi Sugimoto! Yumi is the hot Lolita nurse in Kuchu Buranko (Trapeze), the trippy anime revolving around a psychiatrist, his patients, and his unique ways of treating them. Those who have yet to see it, I highly recommend it, it is very artsy fartsy but also funny and educational. A lot of his patients have OCD but that is another story. Yumi is seen in 2d and 3d in the anime, her remedy to cure the doctor’s patients, is with a vitamin shot in which she proceeds to give while distracting her patients with her northern regions.
Yumi’s career began in elementary school, when she was chosen in a Grand-Prix semi-audition for the girls manga magazine Ribbon. In July 2007 she received her first lead role in TV Tokyo’s late TV drama series Boys Esté and now she is seen in Kuchu Buranko. You would think that nothing much really goes on at an aquarium but the occasional fish or shark if you are lucky. That is where you are wrong my friend, at the Georgia Aquarium it gets a little more interesting, thanks to cosplay genius of Harrison Krix. Harrison is the one in the BioShock Big Daddy Suit and his lovely fiance is cosplaying as the Little Sister. If that is not love, I do not know what is. I am trying to convince my boyfriend to dress up as L and I as Misa from Death Note. I am already one step ahead of him as I already have the costume courtesy of Knight28, a frequent commenter on the site. I mean seriously all my boyfriend has to do is grow his hair out, and wear a baggy shirt and jeans.

Wow, that didn’t take long. It seems like Namco-Bandai and Sony have teamed up to come up with this bundle for the new PS3 Slim. For now, the bundle will make an appearance in Japan and comes with Kidou Senshi Gundam Senki. Never heard of the game? It’s coming September 3rd. Since the bundle is for Japan, I’m surprised a Yakuza bundle was not introduced instead.

I have been a fan of Elfen Lied quite a while now, I would have to say it is in my top 5 of favorite watched anime. It’s opening song “Lilium” was also one I held close to my heart, and still do to this day. Why, I have even said I want the song played at my funeral. Emo of me no? It is a quite beautiful song and Mr. David Tidyman at St. Angela Merici Parish deems it so as well. He played it via an organ during a mass at that church on August 16, 2009, and one week earlier, he played it during communion. After the break I included Mr. David Tidyman’s version played on the organ with the original from Elfen Lied’s Opening Theme. They both brought a tear to my eye and I hope you will enjoy them to.

This right here is an amazing cover to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. It is sung by an amazing Japanese accapella group “Kuno Shinji”. The song is part of the Casshern Sins Project anime and can be found on the Hikari to Kage single by Kuno Shinji on the B-side. I thought I would share this interesting version of the song with all of you it is pretty kawaii and humorous. The singers do not know Engrish that well and they sometimes change up the words here and there but it is definitely worth a listen. Enjoy it after the break!

What do you expect? When there is an anime revolving around poop people you know there is going to be an uproar. Especially when one of their poop towns people resembles a stereotype of your culture. Koreans suggest that a character named “Kim Ben” (“Ben” is a pun on the Japanese character for excrement), who loves kimchee, has narrow eyes and is “easily angered,”.
First of all back up, who is watching this anime? I know there is a cartoon out there based on a Value meal “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”, but an anime based on excrement? That is trying a little to hard no? Ben the character stereotype in question is pictured on the top right of the above picture. I am sorry to the Korean community, I would not want to see a Cuban or Russian representation of me. Or would I? I think it would be quite funny.
