It seems like both the gaming and entertainment industry have been talking about the Halo movie for YEARS now. It’s just one of those things that everyone wants to happen, but for some reason or another, it just hasn’t worked out. Regardless on how many years it’s been in discussion, it looks like Halo: Fall of Reach might be in the sights of one of the most respected directors in the movie industry of all time: Steven Spielberg.
IESB has learned this information from a number of trusted sources that Steven Spielberg is currently in active negotiations to develop the film. Spielberg is said to have been blown away by the script for Halo: Fall of Reach and IESB further speculates the reason why Spielberg would like to work on the film is in order to launch an independent film studio from his Dreamworks Studio with distribution from Walt Disney Pictures.
Halo fans should keep this information in their rumor bin for now as no information has come directly from Mr. Spielberg or Dreamworks. If this turns out to be true though, having Spielberg work on one of the best selling video game franchises of all-time could really place the Halo movie into one of the highest grossing movies of all time, regardless if it’s good or not.
