Champions Online Pushed Back From Summer to Fall

champions online delayed Champions Online Pushed Back From Summer to Fall

Wannabe heroes who aren’t currently playing City of Heroes might want to listen up.  If you’ve been looking forward to saving damsels in distress or fighting your arch enemy time and time again, it looks like you may have to wait a couple of months.

According to a post on the Champions Online website, the launch date for Champions Online has changed from July 14th to September 1st.  As the internet is full of hounds who need to know the reason behind every story, allow me to let Executive Producer Bill Roper tell you why it was pushed back:

It is critically important for an MMO to be as good as it possibly can be at launch. Through our constant dialogue with our vocal and supportive community of beta testers, we quickly realized that in order to implement certain features that we all considered important the development of Champions Online would require more time.  So that’s what we’re going to give it. Cryptic has a proven track record of releasing solid games and we want to maintain that with Champions Online.

There you have it.  It seems more time will equal a more gooder launch.  Patience is a virtue folks, and Champions Online is going to be one hell of a game when it does finally release.

This is a game I can get into. And it’s coming to the 360. I can’t wait.
