Son Rumores, Sony to slash PS3 Prices by $100 around Mid- August
This picture might be incorrect according to recent rumors that are surfacing. E3 did not announce any price cuts on gaming hardware this year. However, Analyst Arvind Bhatia from Sterne Agee, an investment firm, reports (via Industrygamers) that sources say Sony will lower the price of the Playstation 3 by $100 this summer.
Sources are citing Mid- August as the possible time frame to coincide with the ever popular New Madden release. Will Sony lead the way and begin a hardware cut that will ultimately cause Nintendo and Microsoft to follow suit?
I currently own an XBOX 360 and a wii and this news is music to my ears. I have been waiting for this news for some time. Now all I need is a unit to house all 3 neatly in my living room.
Can we start a petition on price cutting games as well? All new games are priced at the $50-$60 range. Should developers break away from the chains and create a new price gaming model? It could garner larger market share….HMMMMM
