No More DRM, The Sims 3 will use Disc-based Copy Protection

Good news for you DRM (digital rights management) haters.  Coming June 2nd 2009, The Sims 3 has passed on their previous version of copy protection, DRM, and instead going with a disc-based copy protection.  Similar to The Sims 2, there will be a serial code and there will not be any online authentication needed.

This will hopefully keep players away from the dreaded Spore DRM that many considered invasive and concerned about server authorization access.  So in the end, EA may have to eat their own DRM system.  Would you like some whipped cream on that?
