‘Twilight: The Video Game’ Details on MMO, Based on Movie and ‘New Moon’ Book

Fans of the Twilight series will go in shock about this breaking news just announced today.  BrainJunk Studios is developing Twilight: The Video Game as a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG).  Which means you will be able to create your own character and play online as a human, vampire, or werewolf.  Yes, you’ll also encounter your favorite characters from the series including Bella and Edward.

Twilight The Video Game is a game that will based very closely to the events in the book and the movie. The game will feature both single player and multiplayer game play.  The single player campaign will be designed to initially allow players to experience story events from either Bella’s or Edward’s perspective. Bella’s perspective will be adapted to be very close to both the Twilight book and movie. Edward’s perspective will be adapted according to the storytelling as presented in the unfinished version of Midnight Sun. Both perspectives will be monitored, and reviewed by Stephenie Meyer to ensure the highest quality possible in terms of storytelling.

The game will feature Charlie’s House and Bella’s bedroom as a central hub to both Bella’s single player campaign and multiplayer game play. Players who choose to play the game from Edward’s perspective will be setup within his house and bedroom. Initially both Bella’s and Edward’s bedrooms will be setup like it was at the start of the movie. Players who unlock portraits, collectables, achievements, and other benefits will be able to show these as forms of decoration throughout both the house and bedrooms. After completion of a stage a character from the story will be unlocked for use in both single player and multiplayer. The character’s unlock will be shown as a picture of that character to be placed as decoration. Certain unlocks will allow players to experience “flash points”, and will be able to experience the past history of that character to whom the “flash point” is linked to.

Multiplayer game play will feature a variety of activities from both the book and movie. One very important multiplayer feature will be vampire baseball. Players will be able to form teams with people who own the game across the internet, and play as any unlocked character. Each different character will feature their own special abilities if they have a special ability from the story. Another multiplayer feature will be the use of the forest as a challenge ground to which to test their vampire abilities. This includes climbing trees, running with incredible speed, and jumping impressive lengths either on the ground or in the woods.

I’m not sure who would want to immerse themselves in a world with other Twilight fans. Those people should have their own type of class based on oddness (yes, oddness is a word). Weirdo’s I say!  So, where should we all meet up first?
