New Super Mario Bros. Wii in 720p

New Super Mario Bros Wii 720p

It seems the Wii can output HD signals… with a catch of course.  The 720p screenshots of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii were captured off an emulator.  That emulator is known as the Dolphin.  With most emulators, the Dolphin’s system requirements are pretty intense.  While we don’t promote the use of any piracy, the screens are more of a preview of what “may” come.  It also shows the games were made with the ability to support the 720p graphics, so why the Wii was made to top 480p is still a question.

About Dolphin:

Dolphin is a Gamecube and Wii emulator. Most games run perfectly or with minor bugs. Games are playable at HD quality, up to 1080p. This is a remarkable feature the actual Gamecube and Wii consoles are not capable of. As an open source project everyone can commit improvements. The code is hosted on code.google.com. Dolphin is actively developed and almost every day new features are added and bugs fixed as well.

It’s pretty obvious why they won’t release Wii HD.

And I really WISH they would RELEASE another version of THIS game!! Put ONLINE, LEVEL EDITOR and CHARACTER SELECT SYSTEM in Single-Player!!

Why can’t Nintendo release like a special edition of this game, so that we can enjoy the online, level editor, character select system, etc.?

I have a cable lead AND a HDTV, and yet there STILL pixels! God why, why wouldn’t they make a Wii with HD support???? I’ve been waiting for months and months for them to announce a Wii 2, and there still aren’t?

*Sigh*, all right, I understand 480p is pretty smart, but not without high-definition. Plus, the Wii has GCN graphics (since GCN is kinda like PS2 and Xbox, if I am right).

Ah, forget that. I rather wait for Nintendo themselves to bring out a Wii HD console or either a Wii System Update to get the resolution settings in the options menu. Plus, there really should be another 2D Mario game. This one is just pure brilliant, IMO. Although it wouldn’t of been better if it had the online mode, level editor and a character select system in single-player mode. Yoshi really needed to be in more levels too, because he’s awesome. Oh well.

I might as well just stop complaining about the Wii needing HD visuals. I think Nintendo’s not happy with their console having high-definition. The 480p setting is still good though, with a cable lead and a bigger television screen. The PS3 and 360 consoles have far superior graphics, thanks to Sony and Microsoft for allowing that.

But still one of the best Mario games ever created, same with Galaxy. :)
