Earlier this year, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was released to the Nintendo DS as an experiment to see how well the GTA franchise can do on the #1 selling handheld in the world. We gave the title a perfect score, which is something that is very hard to do nowadays.
As we reported a while back, the sales for the title weren’t as ground-breaking as Rockstar Games would have hoped. With that in mind, Rockstar Games officially announced today that GTA Chinatown Wars will be heading to the PSP this fall, but there’s a definite benefit to this version over the Nintendo DS’.
The benefit being that not only will the game be released on UMD, as the majority of PSP titles as of now are released, but Rockstar will also be releasing the title on the Playstation Store, offering the title as a digital download for PSP & PSPgo owners. The title will also receive a slight graphical upgrade to allow for a widescreen perspective, enhanced lighting and animations, and new story missions.
