One game that I’ve been keeping a close eye on has been Atlus’ Catherine. Atlus has deemed it an “adult” title where you play as Vincent who begins to have strange nightmares after meeting a woman by the name of Catherine. The game is an action-adventure puzzle game where you try to survive a number of puzzles that take place while Vincent dreams. The game was released in Japan last month with no mention of a US release until Atlus USA let the cat out of the bag on its upcoming Summer 2010 release.

Vincent’s real world issues with commitment will follow him into his dreams as monsters and will try to kill him in his sleep. You’ll need to navigate through your dreams to try to make it out alive to live another day. Catherine will also have local competitive and cooperative play as well as leaderboards.┬áThe game is being produced by Katsura Hashino who was the director of Persona 3 and Persona 4, as well as a number of other Persona greats to deliver an experience we soon won’t forget.

Catherine will be released this Summer in the US for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.

This is great news. I heard that the game was really hard and we definitely need more games that present an actual challenge.

What about Europe any news yet?

They haven’t picked a publisher yet for Europe or at least they haven’t announced it yet. I’d assume an announcement is coming soon though.
