Do you have a burning desire to grind, grip, and flip over anything and everything across a virtual city? Have you played Skate & Skate 2 so much that you actually get bruised up every time your character takes a fall? All those hours of performing insane stunts in Skate & Skate 2 won’t go to waste as EA announced today they will be delivering another sequel in its popular skating franchise, Skate 3.
Skate 3 will offer for the first time co-op. Players will now be able to team up with other players to complete team challenges and take on rival crews across the game’s new location, Port Carverton.
“The social and community aspects of the SKATE franchise are something we’ve always embraced, but we’ve never done anything to the scale you’re going to see in SKATE 3,” said Senior Producer, Jason DeLong. “We’re giving gamers a very unique experience by providing them with the tools they need to build their ultimate team or to create a team comprised entirely of their online friends. From there, it’s all about proving yourself – teaming up, and throwing down.”
Skate 2 offered some great online components that really connected players to their friends performances, as well as saved replays that often either were jaw-dropping feats, or brutal falls worth watching again and again. This new update to the franchise seems like a natural progression.
