Japan Hardware Sales – Nintendo DSi Tops Chart

Hardware Info
This weeks Video Game Console Hardware Sales in Japan are below and the new Nintendo DSi has kicked off to a great start pulling in over over 50k pieces during one week. We just heard news that the pre-ordering process has begun for the US versions of the Nintendo DSi. Japan is known for their portable devices, so we’ll see how the sales here in the U.S. turn out to be on April 5th, 2009.
The PS3 has been a consistent purchase for Japanese gamers, pulling in close to 20k PS3’s a week. Is this PS3’s year? In declining news, it looks like the Xbox 360’s price drop was the only thing keeping those sales alive in Japan.
