Mortal Kombat Will “Finish” The Competition in 2011

With the recent release and success of Capcom’s Street Fighter IV, the fighting genre has certainly received a much needed breath of fresh air. As great as Street Fighter IV has been, it left many fighting game fans wondering when another beloved fighting game franchise would be making its triumphant return. I’m pleased to inform you that one of my favorite fighting game series, Mortal Kombat, has just been announced.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced Mortal Kombat will be hitting the PS3 & Xbox 360 in 2011 and is being developed by NetherRealm Studios, which is being led by Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon. The new Mortal Kombat promises to be the most brutal as Fatalaities will be more gory than they were in previous installments. New gameplay features, including tag team, a co-op Arcade Mode where 2 players can team up, as well as “the deepest story mode of any fighting game.”

this is going to be the awesomest mortal kombat ever, like just look at the fatalities, and this actually looks pretty original because im 90% sure that every character is gonna be different in almost every way. (for example, the red cyborg aiming with the green aiming device)
