One of the biggest surprised this year has got to be the ability to create your own missions in inFAMOUS 2. When it comes to creating things from the ground up, we all know LittleBigPlanet is the king, but after watching this video released by Sucker Punch showcasing inFAMOUS 2’s mission designer, we can’t help but think LittleBigPlanet is in for some serious user-generated competition.
The video you’ll see below showcases the mission designer that will be available when inFAMOUS 2 launches in June. Sucker Punch takes us through what a typical mission can look like, and with a little tweaking, what it can become. In the video, we see a Sucker Punch developer create an assassination mission that has Cole taking out a speaker. The mission could just end there, but to make it more challenging, the developer adds a number of rocket-equipped soldiers, as well as a number of scripts to the mission.
Every mission that’s uploaded onto the Playstation Network will allow for players to download, tweak, and upload their versions of missions if they feel they need a bit of improvement. All I know is that, just like in LittleBigPlanet, I’ll just sit back and watch what inFAMOUS 2 players create as I can’t compete with the level of creativity out there.
