Many of us had the luxury of time this holiday weekend! Some of us went away and visited family, some of us stayed home and had family over. I dusted off my copy of Oblivion: Elder Scrolls IV and played for days on days.
What a fascinating game, First Person Shooters don’t have the breadth and depth of an ES4. I woke up this morning thinking, yes Fallout 3 is out and its the next chapter in Bethesda’s library which has been highly acclaimed.

[UPDATE] In a statement released by Bethesda they tell the official PlayStation blog developers hope to have the first episode ready by the end of September.
For those wondering “What happened to the Fallout 3 DLC for PS3?”, you’re not forgotten. It seems Bethesda’s original announcement of a June DLC was a month early. An “update” mentioned by Pete Hines, VP of Marketing insists it will come this week. We’re not exactly sure if this “update” will include Operation: Anchorage, followed by The Pitt and then Broken Steel four to six weeks later but we’ll keep you posted.

Fans of Bethesda and 2K Games, rejoice! Oblivion Elder Scrolls IV and Bioshock are coming bundled on one disc on July 7th for $39.99 for the Xbox 360 and $29.99 for PC. Winner of over 80 Game of the Year awards combined between the two. We can’t express how great this value is, and speaking directly for Oblivion, which happens to be my all time favorite RPG on a next-gen console, you won’t be disappointed. Dragon Warrior is still the top!

During last night’s GTTV show on Spike TV, Bethesda Softworks’ new title was revealed. If Bethesda Softworks sounds familiar to you, that’s because they’ve been behind some of the greatest games in recent history, the most recent being Fallout 3 & The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.
The game is called Brink and the setting for the game seems to be some kind of sci-fi space setting. It also seems Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory & Enemy Territory: Quake Wars developer Splash Damage is on board with the project. Does that mean Brink will be a space RPG shooter similar to Mass Effect? Only time will tell

Fallout 3 DLC - The Pitt
For those who thought Fallout 3’s additional content would only be ported on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 are mistaken. Bethesda’s interest in making DLC for the PS3 have finally been approved. Many have speculated that the three current DLC’s for Fallout 3 — “Operation: Anchorage”, “The Pitt” and “Broken Steel” — were Microsoft exclusives thanks to a “deal” between the two. Well, those speculations end today as Bethesda announced the three (3) DLC’s will be heading to the PlayStation 3.
Coming to the PS3 in June, “Operation Anchorage” will be available for download first on the PSN. “The Pitt” and “Broken Steel” will be coming 4-6 weeks after. Release dates have not officially been announced.
In other exciting news, two NEW DLC’s will finally be available for the three Platoforms; X360, PS3 and PC. Those titles are:

“Mickey Rourke was our first choice to play Marcinko in Rogue Warrior,” said Todd Vaughn, Executive Producer of Rogue Warrior. “He absolutely, one-hundred percent captures Marcinko’s raw and gritty personality.” Mickey Rourke will be leading the role in Bethesda’s upcoming game and will voice the prominent role of the irreverent, battle-tested Richard “Demo Dick” Marcinko, a real-life Navy SEAL and founder of the elite SEAL Team 6, in Rogue Warrior.
In Rogue Warrior you play as “Demo Dick” trying to disrupt a ballistic missile program by who else, North Korea. As you uncover the details of the mission, you realize that the USSR has their hands into the mix and now your concentration on the mission shifts to another Communist country…
He’s not entirely new to the video game scene. If you recall his “fictional” character, Randy “The Ram” Robinson, was featured in “Wrestle Jam”. While the game was not an official release, Kotaku went behind the scenes with the making of “Wrestle Jam”.
This title is scheduled for a Q4 release in 2009. It will be available on the PS3, PC and X360.

During a press conference in London today, Bethesda’s Peter Hines announced the new game will be called “Fallout: New Veags”. This new title is not a sequel or prequel to Fallout 3. It will be it’s own game independent of Fallout 3.
“It is not a sequel to Fallout 3,” Hines said. “It’s simply another Fallout game in that universe.”
It will be the same sort of role-playing game experience seen in Fallout 3, said Peter Hines
