Halloween is the time of year where we can all dress up as what ever we want and it’s a society accepted event. But we’re here to one you up, Mr Halloween. Costumless body-painting cosplay outfits. Ever thought of getting body painted? I’d be concerned about the “artist” painting. Come on, they’re the guys who go to Hooters. They’re not there for the culinary cooking!
Body painting, or sometimes bodypainting, is a form of body art, considered by some as the most ancient form of art. Unlike tattoo and other forms of body art, body painting is temporary, painted onto the human skin, and lasts for only several hours, or at most (in the case of Mehndi or “henna tattoo”) a couple of weeks. Body painting that is limited to the face is known as face painting. Body painting is also referred to as (a form of) temporary tattoos; large scale or full-body painting is more commonly referred to as body painting, while smaller or more detailed work is generally referred to as temporary tattoos. I know we have all wanted to visit a cosplay cafe, you know where pretty little Japanese girls serve you and tend to your every need. If you are lucky, they may even reenact a scene from your favorite anime on a stage. Now this is a treat for all your 2-D loving Otaku. What if you can have your cosplay maids look like anime characters? Sure, that sounds great and all, but do you really know who is under that costume? It could be a 13 year old boy for that matter.
You tell me if you think these Kigurumi gals are creepy or cute. Those of you in Japan make note of the Kigurumi Cafe Aokazetei opening on the 25th of this month. More creepy 3-D anime maids after the break!

Ok, the first cosplayer, cosplaying as Taiga is Naoki Shingu. I must say she is adorable and has the costume down perfectly but where is Taiga’s sword, her nasty expressions and attitude? I do not see it anywhere and to me that is important. Anyone can wear a costume. But can you become the person you are impersonating? That is the question and the answer to that is the second cosplayer, Midori Kanda. As you can see she has the Taiga hair down, the attitude, sword and even Ryuji’s bento box made especially for her. Which is your favorite Taiga cosplayer? Check out more photos of the cosplayers below after the jump and voice your opinion! There is even a surprise appearance from another character in the show!

Clannad fans everywhere had Kyou Fujibayahi, as their favorite character in the series and rightfully so. Who does not love a tsundre character that is cute as a button, can cook, and can drop kick anyone in a heart beat. Not to mention if you have a pet pig you have to be unique. Puhi Puhi! Veteran cosplayer Saya, is doing a great job cosplaying as Kyou, she went as far as to get purple contacts! Now that is hardcore my friends. Fans enjoy more Kyou after the jump, sorry no Botan included. I personally think she should have taken a picture drop kicking someone. So no pantsu this time, maybe next time, fellahs.

This past Saturday and Sunday the Sakura Matsuri Festival was held at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in Brooklyn, NY. For those that do not know The Sakura Matsuri Festival is a festival paying respects to the Sakura (cherry blossom trees) that are of huge importance and staple of Japan. They are quite beautiful to look at and before this past Saturday the only time I had ever seen one visually was in anime and Japanese movies. Before knowing the festival existed I believed that my only chance was to visit Japan itself.
I learned about the festival through several of my many meetup groups on meetup.com. If you have not joined, I seriously suggest you should, it is a website filled with people like you and I who have an interest or hobby, who then in turn create meetup and or clubs searching for people of the same hobbies, to eventually “meetup”. I know what you are saying who cares about the Sakura Matsuri Festival , all you went there was to look at some trees, that’s whack son! This is where you are wrong because not only where these gorgeous trees in every nook and cranny of the Brooklyn Botanical Garden but there were several Japanese related events and activities such as Taiko Drumming, J-Pop singers, Cosplay shoots, Samurai Sword Fighting, comedians and so much more.

A little background on Kodomo no Jikan, the first installment won the Best Lolicon Anime 2008 awards this past year for the most outrageous anime portraying children/pre-teens in adult predicaments. Do not worry though this show is more silly than anything , there is no abuse to children or nudity exposed . It is just revolves around a cute little grammar school girl (Rin) and her love and persistence to drive her teacher off the wall. She uses these tactics more to annoy him more than anything.
Well here are the 3 adorable musketeers doing there thing in the first cosplay Kodomo No Jikan shoot! Sorry no pantsu, or is there? Much more cosplay shots after the jump!
