Halo 3 ODST Review

Halo 3: ODST marks a couple of firsts in the series.  The first is the fact that you don’t play as Master Chief.  Instead, you assume the role of The Rookie, an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) who may not be as big and bad as a Spartan, but is definitely capable of handling himself when there’s a fight going on.  The second is Halo 3: ODST’s non-linear story.  The last is an all-new co-op multiplayer mode called FireFight where instead of teabagging players from around the world, you can collectively teabag a grunt or two.

With all of these firsts, does Halo 3: ODST live up to the Halo name, and more importantly, will it keep Halo fans satisfied?

Sgt. Johnson Halo 3 ODST FireFight Introduction

Halo 3: ODST’s new multiplayer mode, FireFight, might seem a little confusing and intimidating to those who aren’t used to fighting alongside others in a co-op scenario.  We’re all so accustomed to teabagging one another that we might have forgotten what it’s like to actually work together towards a common goal.  Sgt. Johnson is aware of this and he took it upon himself to teach y’all a little FireFight 101 today.

E3 2009: First Halo 3: ODST Gameplay Footage

halo 3 odst gameplay trailer E3 2009: First Halo 3: ODST Gameplay FootageThe first ever gameplay footage was shown yesterday during Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference and it looks absolutely amazing.

In Halo 3: ODST, you play as The Rookie.  The Rookie is deployed into a mission, but becomes seperated from his teammates.  He goes out in search of his teammates, or at least what happened to them.  Along the way he’ll find artifacts that were left behind by his teammates, which will trigger a flashback and allow players to experience what happened first hand as they take control of one of The Rookie’s teammates.
