It’s been nearly 20 years since Wolfenstein 3D was released, and nearly 70 years from the game’s timeline, and just now we finally have footage of Hitler’s reaction to the events that took place in Wolfenstein 3D.
In the video above, we finally learn how Hitler feels about B.J. Blazkowicz killing his men, discovering all of his secret passages, and stealing all of his gold. Needless to say, Hitler gets a little peeved about the situation and decides to take matters into his own hands.
id Software released a brand-spankin’ new trailer for their upcoming post-apocalyptic FPS, RAGE. The trailer does a great job introducing players into the RAGE world and what to expect from it.
Is it just me, or does RAGE remind you of what Fallout 3 could have been if there were better FPS controls? Since id Software is behind RAGE, I’m sure it’ll be everything we wanted Fallout 3 to be… and that’s saying a hell of a lot.
Zenimax Media announced today that they acquired id Software. You may have already heard of Zenimax Media’s other very popular game publisher Bethesda Softworks, who created Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This merger will put some strong titles in Zenimax Media’s library with the addition of the DOOM, QUAKE, and Wolfenstein games, as well as id Software’s upcoming RAGE.
The day to day operations at id Software will continue under its original founder’s guide, John Carmack. It should also be noted that all of the principals have signed long-term employment contracts which will ensure they’ll continue their roles developing games at the studio. John Carmack had the following to say about the acquisition:
Do you own an iPhone and are looking for a reason to completely drain your battery during your daily commute and/or vacation? Well, id Software has announced Doom Resurrection for the iPhone.
Doom Resurrection is a completely new Doom story that takes a lot of its influence from Doom 3, as you can tell by the screenshot above and the trailer below. The controls for the game is said to have a mixture of touch and accelerometer inputs. The word on the street is Doom Resurrection should be making its way to the Apple App Store some time next week, so keep a lookout if you want to frag some imps while you’re sitting on a beach somewhere in an exotic locatoin you scamp!
