According to the PlayStation.com Forums, the upcoming Killzone 2 DLC will be… FREE! No official word out yet, but on the forums it mentions that come April 30th the expansion pack will be available for free on the PlayStation Network. Killzone 2 has been well received by PS3 fans of FPS.

Like most modern FPS shooters, there are two parts in this game. In order to give a proper and well rounded review, I’ll break this review into two: single player and online multi-player.
Single Player Experience:
Killzone 2’s graphics from the opening sequence is amazing. The plot sets you as an Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA) veteran, named Tomas “Sev” Sevchenko. Your mission is to capture the leader of the Helghast, Scolar Visari and bring an end to his army. Many aspects of the gameplay are similar to other FPS such as Call of Duty, Resistance, and Gears of War. Your health is monitored by the amount of blood splattered on the screen. With time, you will recuperate your health and the blood will disappear. The running mechanics of the game are one of the best I’ve seen from an FPS. When running, you will see the screen focus in a bit on your player and your peripheral vision will show a slight blur resembling the real thing. At least, when I run that is.
You can take that title any way you want to slice it. But TODAY is the official release of Killzone 2. Don’t forget, Killzone 2 DLC will be coming very soon. If you recall, rumors were floating around that “shortly after” it’s release, Killzone 2 DLC will hit the PSN store. We’ll wait and see.

The developers behind the futuristic FPS, Guerrilla, have not given an official announcement of DLC, until now. Mentioned in an interview with PS3sense.nl is reporting that “soon after” Killzone 2’s release date, we can expect DLC. What can we expect? The rumor is that new maps and character skins may be in the first batch, with something more significant – like extra weapons and even new gameplay modes – will drop on a slightly later date. After playing the demo, and changing the controls to resemble COD5 (Alt. 2) I’m excited to play the single player. Let alone the multi-player is another aspect I’m anticipating. And now tell me there will be DLC shortly after??? Killzone 2 Overload!
