Well, here we are again for the umpteenth time, 21st year of Madden history to be exact. Developed by the EA Tiburon team in Orlando, FL. NFL Madden ‘10 takes football to another level. I’ll admit, I wasn’t a fan of the naming convention — I preferred “O – Ten instead” — but the game and name grew on me quickly. Playing most of the Madden games in their previous years, I thought this would be another year of updated football rosters that would shortly be stocked on my shelf and depreciate the value as soon as I removed the cellophane wrapper. But this year feels different. Call me nuts, but with this being the last time John Madden will be featured and two athlete’s in Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu on the front cover it seemed a good time to buy in.
Ratings updated…Yes! Let’s get started with first impressions, since those last the longest of any game. I appreciate all the small details put into any game. So after all the possible candidates announced, both Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu will be featured as Madden NFL 10 Cover Athletes. It’s only fitting that for the first time ever, two NFL superstars will be on the Madden cover in Fitzgerald and Polamalu. After all, the cover is a reflection of Super Bowl 43, which the Steelers won 27 – 23. Madden NFL 10 will be out on Friday, August 14th, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable.
- Above is the official Madden 10 Cover for the Xbox 360 featuring Larry Fitzgerald on the right and Troy Polamalu on the left. -
Since John Madden retired from broadcasting in the NFL booth and BOTH Fitzgerald and Polamalu will be on the cover instead of one athelete, is this the end of the Madden curse?
