We knew we loved Telltale Games.  2 pieces of news for you. 1. Not only are they re-releasing great PC adventure games, but they’re also working on a new 5 part series, called Tales of Monkey Island!  and 2. LucasArts will be re-releasing The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition.

Tales of Monkey Island – Guybrush Threepwood is back along with a bunch of people who worked on the original game.  Tales of Monkey Island will be released over 5 chapters for the PC and through the Wii’s Wiiware, similar to the Sam and Max series.

Ever wonder why Guybrush Threepwood had a hard time getting to Monkey Island?  He wore shoes with buckles on them.  This isn’t Thanksgiving day, or you’re not starring in any Leprachaun movies.  He should have worn a pair of these Converse classics.  Until he can figure out the comeback answer to this pic below, LeChuck will be the head pirate!

The best generation of PC gaming was definitely the 90’s.  It’s where LucasArts ruled the PC platform and with good reason.  I don’t know a person who’s played Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle or Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and didn’t enjoy the point-and-click adventure game.  LucasArts had everything going for them in the right direction. Sam and Max followed Maniac Mansion and Loom, so many thought the history behind LucasArtss’ success would continue into the 2000’s. But alas, slowly the progression of PC gaming was exiting and in came in console gaming.
