Our friends over at ThinkGeek.com have come up with the answer to our portable emulation prayers! A single hand held unit that will run most of your favorite emulators and play all of your favorite roms. We all love the Nintendo DSI, but this unit takes things to a different level with boundless possibilities for the user.
The unit has limited software when you first open it from the box. However, I am sure, all of our readers have all of the emulators and roms they need in some old hard drive stuffed away in the basement or attic.
The unit runs:
MAME
AMIGA
ATARI ST
Commodore 64
NES
SNES
GAMEBOY
GAMEBOY Advance
NEO GEO
and many many more…..

Fans of the retro style 2D Contra will rejoice with this incredible news. “Contra Rebirth” will be reborn and made available through the Nintendo Wiiware… but only in Japan… for now. On May 12th for 1000 Wii Points, Contra Rebirth (In Japan)will feature the side-scrolling action title where shooting and jumping was the golden era of gaming.
Classic NES titles such as, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!, Contra and DuckTales MegaMan have paved the way from the older 8-bit consoles, to the next-gen consoles we use today. With this release Contra, Bionic Commando & MegaMan have reemrged from the retro coffins and prove that “WE The Gamers” appreciate and demand classic 2D style games. And while Punch-Out!!’s release on the Wii is highly anticipated, they too have listened to “We The Gamers” by incorporating the NES controlls as an option to the Wii-mote’s.
Q. If my brothers were playing, complete the rest of the Contra code for 25 guys? (Answer in comments)

Fans of the 2D NES version of Bionic Commando may need to keep the past, in the past. It’s like the Star Wars saga especially Episode IV. Before they “modified” Star Wars: A New Hope it was considered a masterpiece that should never be touched, fixed, corrected. With the technologies available today, Star Wars: A New Hope can be phenominal. Ok, enough SW talk. Enjoy these screens for the upcoming Bionic Commando hitting shops on May 19th.

We have seen great old school remakes or sequels lately from classic titles. We’ve seen Bionic Commando, 1942, Rygar, and Street Fighter impact this new generation of gamers thanks to developers reviving them. Punchout and A Boy and his Blob will also be out soon. However where are the forgotten games that we loved from the 80’s. This article will revisit some “forgotten greats” and through this avenue we hope to open the eyes of game developers looking to rekindle some old flames.
5. Karate Kid (NES) – 1987
.jpg/250px-Pat-Morita_(Karate_Kid).jpg)
YES! The great late Pat Morita, what a great actor, we really loved him in the movie. Especially when he would flight and defeat enemies effortlessly. I didn’t pick this game because I have been told I look like Ralph Macchio, it really has been a forgotten great from the NES.
I read mixed reviews for this game online but this is my article and I say its a great. The game featured tournament mode in which Daniel-San has to defeat the cobra-kai and others using punches, kicks and our all-time favorite the crane kick. I must say , the film to game accuracy is very good in this game. Ice breaking stage, fly catching stage, tournament, Okinawa and the typhoon to mention a few.
Why it should be re-made – With today’s graphics and computing power, one can make an argument that this would be a good idea on the Wii. Imagine trying to catch a fly with chopsticks using wii-motes? Ok, this might be a odd proposal but that’s why this one is at the bottom of the list at #5.
