Sony officially announced today Quantic Dreams’ next PS3 exclusive title, Heavy Rain, is set to be released on February 23, 2010.
Some of you may remember Quantic Dreams’ previous title Indigo Prophecy, which was more of an interactive story than it was a traditional video game. Either way, the game was incredibly unique and focused more on delivering a compelling story rather than cheap thrills. Heavy Rain will deliver the same type of gameplay as Quantic Dreams once again focuses on a purely story-driven gaming experience, but this time, with the power of the PS3, Heavy Rain looks absolutely stunning!
Yes, that’s right. There’s a lot to talk about since Red Dead Redemption will be officially released on April 27, 2010. First, there’s a lot of “R’s” in my title. Second, the title was originally pushed back from late 2009 to mid second quarter of 2010. Whoa Whoa, what’s the hold up? I do know the official trailer has the snakes jumping out of my boots… or is it “Do we feel lucky punk? huh?”. I’m terrible with westerns!
Square-Enix officially announced today the release date for their upcoming epic RPG, Final Fantasy XII. All Chocobo loving fans should mark their calendars on March 9th, 2010 as being the day this current generation of consoles to finally get a new Final Fantasy title.
Final Fantasy XIII will feature a new battle system (which has been the recent trend of new Final Fantasy games), summon system, HD graphics, and a storyline that’s promised to be an “emotional experience”.
The title will be made available on both the PS3 & Xbox 360, which is one of the first times a Final Fantasy title is being launched on multiple platforms on the same day. During Microsoft E3 2008 press conference, it was revealed Final Fantasy XIII would be making its way to the Xbox 360. No details yet on how many discs the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will be packaged as its expected the PS3 version will simply take up 1 Blu-Ray disc.
After a push and shove, 2K Games has finally revealed when BioShock 2 will hit store shelves, Feb 9, 2010. All the hidden messages left on their website had to have this information somewhere. What we do know is the game takes place 10 years after the original BioShock. What happened in between?
Do you have a burning desire to grind, grip, and flip over anything and everything across a virtual city? Have you played Skate & Skate 2 so much that you actually get bruised up every time your character takes a fall? All those hours of performing insane stunts in Skate & Skate 2 won’t go to waste as EA announced today they will be delivering another sequel in its popular skating franchise, Skate 3.
Set for a original launch date for June, news broke this morning on the PS Blog that inFamous will make it’s highly anticipated debut of May 26th. While this news is not all that shocking, because the title was originally pushed back to begin with, what IS surprising was a confirmed date BEFORE their originally annouunced date.
It seems most publishers grasp onto a date as the very last chance to work out all the bugs. While May 26th is the official US release date, the game must be in production way before that and shipped to retailers. Why bump it up a month? Maybe it’s been in “bug testing” mode this entire year (2009). Nevertheless, Sucker Punch has promised to blow all of us away with inFamous. The PSN trailers alone have done just that thus far. And with the demo hitting the PS store on May 21st, only time will tell.
