There’s a time in a Nintendo Fans life when you go back to the well to see if there’s water left. If you’re still reading my philosophical first line, you’ll know I’m talking about the once “epic” Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Emulation System (NES). Coming later this month will be the New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii and we got some screens to show it off.

I know we’re super excited for it’s release on November 15th, but what are other critics saying. Well, today Daniel twitted, that the New Super Mario Bros. Wii will outsell MW2!

“WOW! Reggie Fils-Aime has got some big coconuts. He proclaims in this week’s @gametrailers TV show that New Super Mario Bros Wii will outsell Modern Warfare 2 on a single platform (PS3 sales or 360 sales alone). Sorry Reggie, but I don’t see that happening.”

In lieu of babylinda’s post on the NES controller carved into someone’s skin, I searched high and low to present you with the top 10 Super Mario Tattoo’s around.  Not sure, if these are Nintendo hostages err employees but they sure went the distance to show their love of the Italian plumber from Brooklyn, Mario Mario brother to Luigi Mario.  Betcha didn’t know Mario’s last name is Mario…  Anyone?

If you look closely on some of the tat’s you can make out the gender. Don’t look too hard, since I’m not sure if some are even human nor where they’re located, ewww. And finally, enjoy the tat’s!

Built with over 20,000 pieces of LEGO, Super Mario still manages to look 8-Bit.  Where on earth do you find “tan” LEGO pieces.  Mine always come with the regular, you know; red, black, the green board, a hat, and instructions to build Rubix Cube.  Weird!

The 80’s were considered the “Love” era, and Nintendo knew that.  These Valentine Day Cards were published in 1989, and I actually remember owning the TMNT V-Day cards.  While I struggled handing them out during that time since I was a wee youngster, my brothers and I treated them as the Nintendo version of Garbage Pail Kids.

At the NYC Comic Con ‘09 this weekend I took a glimpse of the cutest little Resin Figures.

They are called Soopa Maria Sato and are made to resemble Mario and Luigi but only if they were adorable female Japanese women dressed up.They are from designer and artist Erick Scarecrow and are limited to just 25 pcs world wide. Since these “lil works of art” are limited, you should also know that they are signed and numbered by Mr. Erick Scarecrow himself.  They tower only 6.75 inches and go for $90 a pop!

They come in all different assorted colors such as Mario red, Luigi green, multi-color , etc etc. I certainly  would shell out $90 if I can get my hands on one of these guys. What a conversation piece!
