Tales of Monkey Island Gameplay Trailer

The release date for TellTale’s Tales of Monkey Island is nearly upon us (July 7), and a new gameplay trailer was released today.  The first chapter, entitled “Launch of the Screaming Narwhal”, will include the cast you know and love from the Monkey Island series.

The gameplay trailer shows the game has kept it’s humor in tact.  I’m the kind of player who likes playing around with dialog to find out as much information as possible, or to simply see what kind of humorous dialog I can uncover.  The banter between Guybrush and Governor Marley is a great example of why I loved the Monkey Island series.

Champions Online Lair Trailer

Champions Online may have had it’s release date pushed back a month or two, but Cryptic Studios is helping the hype-train move along with this latest trailer focusing on infiltrating enemy lairs.

Most comic book stories that involve some sort of superhero always has the heroes beating up the nemesis’ thugs in order to get information on the whereabouts of the lair of the nemesis.  Being able to go on a mission to infiltrate and destroy a lair is just another notch to why this game is going to be the ultimate experience for both gamers and comic book fans.

halo 3 odst gameplay trailer E3 2009: First Halo 3: ODST Gameplay FootageThe first ever gameplay footage was shown yesterday during Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference and it looks absolutely amazing.

In Halo 3: ODST, you play as The Rookie.  The Rookie is deployed into a mission, but becomes seperated from his teammates.  He goes out in search of his teammates, or at least what happened to them.  Along the way he’ll find artifacts that were left behind by his teammates, which will trigger a flashback and allow players to experience what happened first hand as they take control of one of The Rookie’s teammates.

Prototype’s Opening Cinematic Reminds Me To NEVER Mess With Alex Mercer

If you’re a regular PS reader, you’ll notice that this video may look very familiar.  That’s because mrjuandrful posted the teaser opening cinematic a couple of weeks ago.  In the opening cinematic, we learn that Alex believes he was the cause of the destruction in NYC.  He doesn’t know how he became what he is, but he will do anything to get to the bottom of it.  Even if it means killing a few military officials who are insane enough to try to stop him.

It should go without saying, but if there’s ever some kind of modern day apocolypse where humans become infected and an anti-hero like Alex Mercer was running around, you should NEVER decide to join the army and actually try to take him down.  Seriously; there’s no way any of us would survive more than 3 seconds in a fight with him.  Take the video in this article for example.

prototypemain A Plethora Of Mission Types Highlight Latest Prototype Trailer

Radical Entertainment released a new trailer for Prototype recently focusing on the variety of mission types that we can expect in the game.  In the trailer, which you can check out after the break, we see Alex performing a multitude of missions which include Rescue, Stealth, and Defend.  If you’ve played most open-world games, then these mission types won’t seem unfamiliar to you.  What sells this game are the unique ways that Alex can complete his tasks through his abilities.

Oh yea, and killing zombies with helicopter blades has officially been confirmed.

Dead Rising 2’s Debut Trailer; Fear The Moose Head!!

April 28th, 2009 Daniel Perez No comments

When you hear the words, Dead Rising, one usually thinks of a couple of things. Zombies. Tons of weapons. Shopping Malls.

Capcom released the debut trailer for Dead Rising 2, and although it doesn’t take place in a shopping mall this time, it does take place in Las Vegas.  As you can see from the trailer, you can expect more zombie slaying, more weapons, and more interesting ways to slay tens of thousands of zombies.

See What The Bionic Arm Can Do In This Bionic Commando Video

April 11th, 2009 Daniel Perez No comments

When I think of Bionic Commando, I think of the old-school game where you swing from place to place to reach the end of the level.  Capcom is reviatlizing the Bionic Commando franchise to this current generation of game platforms. Last summer, they released Bionic Commando Rearmed which was the old-school game that we all know and love, but with some much needed upgrades to both the graphics and to the control mechanics.  Needless to say it was a huge success, and Capcom is soon going to release the sequel on May 15th, 2009.

If you think this game will include swinging from place to place, then give yourself a cookie.  If you think that’s the only thing that will be featured in the new Bionic Commando, then I command you to throw away that cookie immediately! When you’re done, please watch the video above and educate yourself with all of the awesome things the Bionic Arm can do in the upcoming Bionic Commando.

Activision Gives Us “10 Reasons You Must Have” Prototype

March 28th, 2009 Daniel Perez 3 comments

Activision released a new trailer promoting their upcoming title Prototype today that, quite frankly, is a little blunt.  Most trailers I’ve seen have a single focus and keep the entire video focused on the subject.  Prototype is so full of badd-assery that they can comfortably give you 10 reasons why you should go to your local retailer come June 2009 and plunk down $60 bucks and change for Prototype.

If I had to pick a favorite number from the video, it would definitely have to be #4. “Stealth Kill + Patsy” has got to be one of the greatest ideas ever in a video game.  To be able to take the shape of your enemy, and then to turn around and accuse another enemy that they are indeed Alex Mercer, and then have him shot and killed on sight just warms my heart at the thought of all the evil deeds I can do in the game.

gow3logo 16ba7 God Of War III Epic Trailer Feb 13th Edition

God of War 1 and God of War 2, are in my top 10 games for the PS2!  I may have to bump them in my “all-time” list, but I won’t blow you away with that now.  Enjoy the trailer, which Sony is calling the “Conclusion” of the 3-part series.  I really hope not!
