That’s right folks, the leading online game distribution service on the PC just got a lot more flexible. Valve software Steam and Source are heading to the Mac platform this April. Once labelled the most convienent PC gaming software, will now share the same task along side a Mac. To go with this monumental announcement for Mac users, the supported list of games that will be available in April are; Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal, and the Half-Life series. And best news of all, through “Steam Play” if you purchased the game through PC you’ll be able to play it on your Mac for FREE.

If you like your zombies fast and survivors plucky then you’ll be happy to hear that Valve dropped some more details about “The Passing” at Microsoft’s X10 conference. “The Passing” will provide players with two new weapons to constructively increase the average number of perforations per zombie, one in melee format, the other in ranged. Reports from the show floor suggest that the ranged weapon is a sort of heavy machine gun, something bearing a close resemblance to a M60. Further information regarding the appearances of the original game’s survivors also cropped up. They will occupy an NPC role and will reportedly feature at the beginning and end of the campaign. Looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for 8 player co-op zombie slaying action.
One final bit of good news on the zombie slaying front. Valve has announced that the original Left 4 Dead will see some content love as well. Roughly a month following the release of “The Passing” Left 4 Dead players will get a new campaign that covers events leading up to the Left 4 Dead 2 campaign. No specific details were given, but it should go a long way towards quelling the remaining discontent over Left 4 Dead 2’s rapid development and release time.
Throw some gas in that chainsaw and start stockpiling ammo, more zombies are headed your way soon.

Having more of something can be a hit or a miss depending on what that something is. More cake is always a good thing, while more cavities is not so good. Left 4 Dead 2 is the sequel to Valve’s hugely popular zombie genocidal shooter that was released last year. Can more zombie killing be considered a good thing, or does it feel just like the same ole thing with some new bells and whistles?

Hardcore Zombie Killers will go gaga for Valve’s latest mode coming to Left 4 Dead 2. It’s called “Realism”, and it’s for those who find the “expert” mode as pathetic as a singing chorus scene from Annie. I think I remember killing Mrs. Hannigan as The Smoker w/ a 40ft tongue???

In Left 4 Dead, you fight your way through level after level of infected people. But, what if there were infected teletubbies in Left 4 Dead instead? Then you would reach a whole new level of creepiness.
Left 4 Dead modder flameknight7 placed one of the creepiest kids show characters in the game as a way to remind us that when the inevitable human infection comes, its not just people we’ll be seeing out there with a thirst for human flesh, but also kids morning show characters.

PAX has come and gone, but a number of gems are still popping up like this one from the folks at Broken CRT.
The group took the pilgrimage to PAX, and upon entering, they found a Heavy Weapons Guy. Since they weren’t taking part in a Team Deathmatch on 2Fort, they went ahead and interviewed Mr. HW. The Heavy Weapons Guy shares such insightful wisdom as what his thoughts on PAX are, if he has his “sandvich”, and where his gun is at.

The life of a Boomer might seem like a glamorous one as all you’re expected to do is vomit on some survivors and then run away, but it’s not all fun and games. From time to time, Boomers need a day off to rest their bile as their jobs require them to be 100% at their game. One false move, and their delicate bodies can blow up into a million pieces.

In Left 4 Dead, you fight wave after wave of infected in order to survive to live to tell the tale. Thanks to a recently released “nude mod” that was created specifically for Zoey, the fight is to get that hot little piece of A safe and sound.
You read right folks. A nude mod was created for Zoey by Zaigo from L4DMods. If anything, I’m surprised there wasn’t a mod created a week after Left 4 Dead’s release. I guess Zaigo put that much extra love and care into this particular mod. For all of you people who might think poor ole Zoey might catch something else running around naked, no worries. She still has a bit of clothing on which will be essential to the war effort.
Pics & a video of this mod in action after the break (it should go without saying this is NSFW)

In case you missed it, last week during E3, Left 4 Dead 2 was announced. Mostly everyone in the gaming community was excited about this news, particularly since more of a very good thing usually results in praise. Not quite so with some die-hard fans of Valve games.
A Left 4 Dead 2 Boycott group came up almost immediately after the game was announced last week and is approx. over 20,000 members strong. Their issue is according to a number of interviews and news straight from Valve, the company promised they would treat Left 4 Dead 2 similar to their other properties by supporting it post-launch with new content such as new weapons, campaigns, and infected. It seems instead of doing that, Valve decided to box all of those updates into it’s own single product with Left 4 Dead 2.
The group actually makes a legitimate claim as the news of the Left 4 Dead sequel had many people scratching their heads as Valve isn’t known for churning out sequels almost a year after the original product launched. I for one am looking forward to Left 4 Dead 2, although I hope the updates are well worth the $60 pricetag.
Check out some video evidence of Valve’s claim to further support Left 4 Dead after the break as well as some commentary from Hitler himself!
