Super Heros are cool. Villains are even cooler. With 24 playable characters, Activision’s Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 combines the two sides for an all out smash’em up RPG action game. Ultimate Alliance 1 was just a prototype set up to enhance Ultimate Alliance 2 with a rework of characters, attacks, and fused attacks between two super hero’s that allow for maximum damages. This time a civil war splits up all the hero’s and villains in Ultimate Alliance. Choose Rebel and you’re an outcast to the U.S. government “attempting” to clean up the streets in order to increase national security via the Superhuman Registration Act. Or would you rather work for “the man” and with their help abolish those who oppose? Choice is yours! Also, here’s another chance to play as Wolverine again!
Most Games based off movies fail. But oddly, Raven Software’s adaptation of X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a bit MORE entertaining than the movie. The understanding of the movie will help but not necessary since the game “tries” to explain the history of Logan aka Wolverine. The Main Menu of the game shows you a submerged Wolverine with tubes connected twitching and in obvious pain. But the story of the legendary comic book character awaits you, so “Press Start”!
Regenerative Health finally makes sense. Many games adore the regenerative health system, but it just never seemed right to me. If you’re shot in Gears of War 2 or Call of Duty your health should actually degenerate. Trickling out of your body until your demise. But that wouldn’t be fun now would it? Making a game featuring mutants makes sense for regenerative health. In X-Men Origins, Wolverine can take some serious hits to his health bar. With idle time, that health will increase due to his mutant powers.
You know how the French kiss the right and left cheek to say hello, perhaps Obama forgot that on his trip to France but every country has it’s customs. It is weird because one second the Japanese seem so reserved when it comes to public displays of affection, dating and just shy in general. Then on the other hand they are kind of frisky, it seems that cupping each others genitals is just the way the Japanese say hello perhaps. Not just any genitals mind you but Wolverine’s himself, Hugh Jackman! Well I know you all cannot get enough of Hugh until the X-men Origins: Wolverine movie coming out May 1st!
