Konami’s Castlevania series is one that the majority of hardcore gamers hold dear to their heart. There’s just something about its gameplay, cast of interesting and dynamic enemies, and each version’s protagonist keeps us entertained for hours.
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is an exclusive Xbox LIVE Arcade title that brings all of these recognizable elements to the Xbox 360 along with some new things such as the updated map system & multiplayer for up to 6 players. The game sounds like a dream come true, but does it end up being a nightmare?
As much as I’m looking forward to getting my hands on Marvel vs. Capcom 3 when it’s released, my excitement for it has definitely downgraded as this past weekend, Capcom & Namco announced the ultimate fighting versus game: Street Fighter X Tekken & Tekken X Street Fighter!
Well, well, well. It looks like Capcom is getting set to reinvent the Mega Man franchise as the company announced Mega Man Universe for the Xbox LIVE Arcade & Playstation Network.
Mega Man Universe, the latest entry in Capcom’s long-running Mega Man® series, will be a revolutionary take on the seminal classic, setting course for a new chapter in classic gaming.
Not much information regarding the game was given, but a teaser video was released that gave no gameplay footage whatsoever. Judging by the video released, I’m hopeful Mega Man Universe will incorporate some kind of one the fly weapon or character changing aspect during gameplay.
What do you think Capcom has cooking for Mega Man Universe? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments.
Whenever I think of Crackdown, I have bitter sweet memories. The only reason most people payed it any attention was because the Halo 3 Beta was only accessible by going through the Crackdown menu. The problem was, there was an actual game attached to that Halo 3 Beta, and it was a bitter sweet one. Sure it was fun running around Pacific City as a nearly unstoppable machine of justice, but its lack of any kind of story besides “These gangs are bad. Stop them.” made the original Crackdown feel empty.
Ruffian Games has taken the reigns of Crackdown 2, which even though it’s the company’s first game, it was formed by two key members of Realtime Worlds, who were the original creators of Crackdown. Will Crackdown 2 improve where the original fell flat, or will the game be another bitter sweet memory?
When Bulletstorm’s debut trailer was released this past March, I immediately became a believer in the game’s awesomeness. Lucky for me, and everyone on the Internet, another video was released today with some director commentary from none other than Cliff Bleszinski.
The video plays through a level that we saw during EA’s E3 press conference, but this time, the director commentary from Cliff adds some insight on level design, suggestions on different ways to take out enemies, and some other points of interest.
As long as Microsoft’s press conference was today (clocked in at over 2 hours!), there just wasn’t enough time to mention everything coming out this year for the Xbox 360. One of which was this year’s line-up for the Xbox 360′s “Summer of Arcade” promotion.
For the past 3 years, the Summer of Arcade has been host to some of the best Xbox LIVE Arcade titles. Castle Crashers, Shadow Complex, and Braid are some of the titles that previously launched during the Summer of Arcade promotion and it looks like this year is going will have another line-up of stellar Xbox LIVE Arcade titles. The following games are set to release during this year’s Summer of Arcade promotion:
During Microsoft’s press briefing today, they announced a new slimmer version of the Xbox 360. The new Xbox 360 sports built in 802.11n Wi-Fi, a 250 GB hard drive, a redesigned hardware that results in “whisper quiet” use, touch-sensitive buttons that will turn on/off & eject your disc with a swipe, a custom Kinect port, a total of 5 USB slots, a smaller power supply, and will sell for $299. Another surprise from the Xbox 360 “slim” reveal is the new Xbox 360 is being shipped straight to retailers today, which means it will be available this weekend.
As you see in the photos, the new Xbox 360 has a sharper look to it than the current model of Xbox 360. Plenty of ventilation slots hopefully means less red ringing and more time actually enjoying your games. It also looks like the Xbox 360 ring has a chrome finish to it.

Microsoft’s newest motion control peripheral has been renamed to “Kinect”. Formerly known as Project Natal, this latest technology will allow gamers to not only game but also communicate with family and friends without the use of a headset. Wow, the future!
